Richard Reiter’s Swing Band Concert at Van Vleck
Fee: $5 per person
Swing into summer with Richard Reiter’s Swing Band in concert. Against the backdrop of the Van Vleck Gardens, the Swing Band will perform familiar standards from the swing era, featuring Reiter on saxophone, clarinet and flute, plus vocalist Tricia Slafta, accompanied by keyboard, bass and drums. The audience is invited to both listen and dance to a repertoire including "Our Love is Here to Stay," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "As Time Goes By,” "Sing Sing Sing," and "Jump Jive an' Wail.” Concertgoers are invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a picnic on the Van Vleck grounds. 1- 3 pm, Van Vleck House & Gardens, 21 Van Vleck St., Montclair.
