Sock Monster Returns to Tierney’s Friday, May 11
Montclair’s own Sock Monster returns to Tierney’s Tavern Friday night, May 11. The band—John Paul Uva, guitar and vocals, Jim Kvoriak, guitar and vocals, Bob Terhune, bass and vocals, and Andy Yeates, drums—looks for great rock/pop songs, classics from ‘60s bands like the Kinks and the Searchers, and mixes them in with more recent alternative gems from the likes of the Replacements, the Jayhawks and the Old 97s. They put their own stamp on the music, with their twin guitar attack, great harmonies and driving rhythm section. The band’s been working on a whole slew of new covers, including songs from The Records, Decemberists, Teenage Fan Club and Wilco. Show starts at 9 p.m. $5 cover.
