On Sunday, September 18th the Junior League of Montclair-Newark, Inc. will host The JLMN Run 4 Children at Risk to raise both awareness and funding for the extensive programs that JLMN provides to improve the lives of children at risk in our local communities. To register for The JLMN Run 4 Children at Risk, please visit www.jlmn.org or go directly to www.compuscore.com where the race can be found under September. The JLMN Run 4 Children at Risk will be a fun-filled morning with a range of healthy activities for the entire family to enjoy. The event includes a four mile race, a one mile fun run/walk and kids' races, all commencing at Montclair's Woodman Field between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, rain or shine. The four mile USATF-NJ 500 point race is open to runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. The USATF Certified NJ11517JHP certified course is mostly flat with a slight downhill loop through scenic Brookdale Park, and returns on the slight uphill to finish on the track. Prizes will be given out at an awards ceremony, with an iPod Touch going to the first place overall male and female finishers. Other prizes will be presented to the overall 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers, as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group. The one mile fun run/walk course starts at the intersection of Champlain Terrace and North Fullerton, takes a u-turn before Watchung Avenue, and concludes at the 100 meter finish line on the track in Woodman Field. The kids' races will be various distances around the Woodman Field track.
