Expensive Jewelry, Rolex Stolen From Montclair Homes: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Items including expensive jewelry and a Rolex watch were stolen from Montclair homes during two separate incidents last week, authorities reported Monday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township:

Sept. 28 (Fernwood Avenue) – “The homeowner’s son reported that he arrived at the residence at the request of his mother because the alarm had been activated. Upon his arrival, he discovered the rear door had been shattered and was wide open. The residence was checked and it was determined that the suspect made their way into two second floor bedrooms. Approximately $10,000 in jewelry was stolen.”

Sept. 29 (Elston Road) – “The resident reported that he was asleep on his couch and was awoken by the sound of his side door slamming shut. Upon investigating, he discovered his health insurance cards scattered on the kitchen floor and two of his wife’s purses were missing. The purses contained a silver Rolex and approximately $350 in cash.”
