Family Promise of Essex County Ramps Up For Fundraising Gala

The "Art of Giving: 35th Anniversary Celebration" will take place Thursday at the Montclair Art Museum.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair-based nonprofit Family Promise of Essex County is ramping up for its annual gala fundraising event, which will take place on Thursday, Oct. 5.

The “Art of Giving: 35th Anniversary Celebration” will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue. Learn more or purchase tickets here.

Family Promise of Essex County (FPE) supports families facing the crisis of homelessness with prevention assistance, emergency shelter, permanent housing and long-term stabilization programs. Last year, the nonprofit helped more than 550 local families.

Proceeds will fund the group’s mission to “help homeless and at-risk families achieve self-sufficiency by providing shelter, social services and housing assistance through a community-based approach.”

“Guests will enjoy an engaging evening surrounded by the Museum gallery ambiance, including delightful entertainment from local artists, scrumptious cuisine by In Thyme Catering, a silent auction and other opportunities to donate in varied ways. First Lady of New Jersey, Tammy Murphy, will provide video greetings.”

Honorees for the event will be Montclair Helps, a Montclair based, all-volunteer organization that has been a “valuable partner” to FPE over the past few years, organizers said.

The event is supported by Capital One as the Innes (premiere level) sponsor and Goldman Sachs as the Pollock (silver level) sponsor. Other sponsors include Bodnar Financial Advisors Inc. and Wells Fargo Advisors.
