Fatal Shooting In Montclair Claims Life Of 23-Year-Old: Police
No arrests have been made as of Friday, Essex County authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A fatal shooting claimed the life of a 23-year-old man early Friday morning in Montclair, authorities said.
Police found Leroy Peters, 23, of Montclair, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the 100-block of Lincoln Street at 2:35 a.m., according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Montclair Police Department.
Peters was taken to University Hospital in Newark and pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m., authorities said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Montclair Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
