The Pinnacle Companies continued to present its plans for The MC, a 148-room full-service boutique hotel, on Tuesday July 29 at the Montclair Planning Board meeting.
During the meeting, residents expressed enthusiasm and support for The MC as a much needed and welcome hotel for Montclair, which has been without a hotel since 1938, when The Montclair hotel was demolished.

The MC will be part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection of premier independent hotels.
“Our design strategy celebrates Montclair’s distinctive culture, diversity and artistry - a perfect fit with the Autograph Collection’s unique, one-of-a-kind properties including the Algonquin in NYC,” said David Ashen, principal of Dash Design, the hotel’s interior design and branding firm. “With a casual sense of luxury and an eclectic vibe, the property aims to be a destination point for the community with a range of social gathering spots.”

“Boldly playful with a casual sense of luxury, the hotel’s original, modern design will fit comfortably into Montclair’s community landscape,” continued Ashen.
“We had an excellent, productive meeting last night with the Montclair Planning Board and we are looking forward to meeting with the newly appointed design committee to discuss and agree upon final enhancements to The MC to be shared at the next meeting on August 11,” said Brian Stolar, president and CEO, The Pinnacle Companies, developer of The MC.
