Free Montclair Shakespeare Theater Series Launches on Wednesday
The new series was crowdfunded through a Kickstarter campaign.

Fresh from a successful Kickstarter campaign, the newly founded Montclair Shakespeare Series will present a free, public concert reading of Twelfth Night at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at the Montclair Women’s Club, 82 Union St.
According to a release, the series will feature a different play each month, accompanied by live acoustic music and performed at various historic venues across Montclair. In this “no-frills” concert reading style, plays are read by the actors with the script in hand with very limited staging. The emphasis is on the classical language and on the actors’ ability to bring the characters to life without costumes, sets, or movement.
The inaugural performance will feature a cast of actors from both New York City and the Montclair area.
