Free Paper Shredding Event In Montclair Returning For 2025

Here's what to know about this year's Montclair Shred Fest, which is open to local residents.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Need to dispose of some paper documents? Montclair will hold a free “Shred Fest” event for local residents on Saturday, May 10.

The 2025 Montclair Shred Fest will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Montclair High School-George Inness Annex Parking Lot (North Fullerton Avenue).

According to an announcement from the municipal Office of Sustainability, this year’s event is free for Montclair residents. Proof of residency will be required on arrival.

Documents containing paper clips, staples, envelope windows and scotch tape are acceptable. Visitors should remove any metal clasps, masking and duct tape.

Montclair residents can bring up to four boxes or paper bags (up to 20 pounds each).
