Free Tax Prep Services: Montclair Library To Host Program
Need help with your taxes? Check out this upcoming event at the Montclair Public Library.

Montclair, NJ - On Saturday, February 13 and Saturday, March 19, New Jersey Citizen Action (NJCA) will offer free tax preparation services at Montclair Public Library as part of its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for households earning $54,000 or less in 2015.
This service is offered by appointment only, a release stated.
“NJCA’ s free tax preparation service helps hard-working New Jersey families take advantage of all of the tax credits they are eligible for including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC), and education credits,” a release stated.

Residents who qualify for the EITC can receive up to $6,242 in tax refunds, a release stated.
Since first launching their program in 2007, Citizen Action claims to have provided more than 26,200 low-income workers with their free tax preparation services, returning more than $40.4 million in refunds to New Jersey families.

NJCA’s free tax preparation services are available in English and Spanish. IRS-certified staff prepare and electronically file federal and New Jersey state tax returns for individuals and families making less than $54,000 annually, and helps those eligible claim the state and federal Earned Income Tax Credits.
