Group Of Men Assault Woman, Man In Montclair: Police

A group of men dragged another man down a flight of stairs, then attacked a woman when she saw the assault take place, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A group of men allegedly dragged another man down a flight of stairs at an apartment building in Montclair on Monday, then attacked a woman when she witnessed the assault taking place, police said.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the assaults, which happened on Bloomfield Avenue:

“The victim reported that she was exiting her friend’s apartment when she noticed a group of men dragging another man down the stairs. She reported that when the men noticed that the victim was observing them, they approached her, struck her in her face and pushed her out into the street. The suspects reportedly fled in a truck (no further description) eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue.”

The female victim was transported to Mountainside Hospital for evaluation. Responding officers were unable to locate the male victim, police said.
