Hall Of Fame Countdown Begins For Montclair State University Football Great
Sam Mills was once considered too small to play linebacker. He "kept pounding" - and it paid off.
True to his inspirational words, former Montclair player Sam Mills ’80, who at 5-foot-9 was once considered too small to play linebacker, “kept pounding” throughout his college and professional football careers, and on August 6, 2022, his name and legacy will join other all-time greats when he is posthumously enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Red Hawk community is excited to follow the events of the week in Canton, Ohio, which kick off with the Hall of Fame game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, August 4, as well as a “Fun Fest” all weekend. On Saturday, August 6, the day begins with a morning parade for the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 and about 100 returning Hall of Famers. The enshrinement ceremony begins at noon with Emmy Award-winning actor, writer and producer Keegan-Michael Key serving as a speaker and ceremony host. The day ends with a concert featuring the rock band Journey.
