Has Sesame Closed its Doors?

The restaurant was often cited as one of the best Chinese restaurants in town.

A handful of residents say that Sesame restaurant has closed—and no one answers the phone at the establishment even though it's generally open on Mondays.

Sesame has been a favorite in Montclair for years and Montclair Patch published a review of the restaurant only a few months ago.

The restaurant, at the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Seymour Street, had green awnings and big glass-paned front windows with plywood floors and brick walls. The restaurant was spread out over several rooms and contained two dining rooms plus a party room.

The restaurant was known for specialties such as its Chicken and Corn Soup for Two and barbecued spare ribs.

The restaurant has been running a liquor store next door, where customers often purchased wine to accompany their meals.
