Hoboken Historical Museum to Host Second Annual Poetry Festival
April 19 readings will include contemporary and classical verses.

Fresh on the heels of their inaugural “Something Old, Something New (Jersey)” poetry reading, the Hoboken Historical Museum and CavanKerry Press will host the second installment of “Something Old, Something New (Jersey),” a celebration of the state’s poetic heritage in honor of the state’s 350th birthday, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.
The public recital – featuring 10 contemporary poets reading both old and new works - will take place at the Hoboken Historical Museum, 1301 Hudson St.
Participating poets include: Stephen Crane, Toi Derricotte, Maggie Estep, W.S. Merwin, Bob Rixon, Ntozake Shange, Patti Smith, and C.K. Williams. The contemporary poets reading at the event will be Renee Ashley, Teresa Carson, Reg E. Gaines, Carmelo Garcia, Frank Messina, James Richardson, Magdalena Alagna Schmidt, Danny Shot, Joe Weil, Gretna Wilkinson, and the 2015 NJ Poetry Out Loud State Champion.
