Home Burglaries Reported In Montclair On Godfrey, Myrtle
A Montclair resident fled her kitchen when a man tried to get inside. Another resident was alerted about an intruder remotely, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of Montclair residents recently reported home burglaries, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the first incident took place on Oct. 22 on Godfrey Road.
The resident told officers that she heard glass shatter and ran into her kitchen to investigate. That’s when she saw a man wearing a ski mask and the kitchen door ajar, police said.

The resident ran out of the kitchen; the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, authorities said.
The victim described the intruder as a “skinny and tall” black male wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves, with a black ski mask partially covering his face.

MYRTLE AVENUE INTRUDER
On Oct. 26, Montclair police responded to a home on Myrtle Avenue after receiving a report of a burglary.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the resident of the home called police after he got a remote alert that someone was ringing his doorbell. Video footage showed a man enter the home and leave through the front door.
The intruder may have gotten in through a window, the victim told police.
It isn’t known if anything was stolen, police said.
The victim described the suspect as a tall, white male with short, brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark-gray hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, gray sneakers with white soles and a black back pack.
