A pair of Montclair residents recently had a late-night encounter with a home intruder, authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of Montclair residents recently had a late-night encounter with a home intruder, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place on April 30 on Hitchcock Place. Here’s what happened, authorities said:
“A resident reported that she was asleep and was alerted at 1:30 a.m. by her home surveillance that an unknown person was at her rear door. Her husband reported that he went to investigate and observed an unknown male attempting to make entry through a kitchen window. Once the suspect observed the homeowners, he fled the scene on foot.”
The suspect was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers, police said. No additional information was immediately available.
