In Montclair: 7th Grader Organizes 'Hoops for Haiti,' Raises $5K
A Montclair juvenile helped spearhead a basketball tournament that raised money for medical care in Haiti.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — May 22, 2017 — About 50 young participants gathered at the St. Cassian school gym on Saturday, May 20 to participate in the Hoops for Haiti fundraiser, organizers said.
This was the second annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament to be organized by Toby Baer and his family. Baer, a 7th grader at St. Cassian school, created the event as a fundraiser for Lamp for Haiti.
Baer said that he was inspired to make a difference upon learning more about the organization founded by a fellow St. Cassian alum, James Morgan, a local physician and resident.
