How To Get Rid Of Your Christmas Tree In Montclair: 2023 Update

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Need to dispose of a Christmas tree in Montclair? According to a news release from town officials, here’s what you need to know for 2023:

“Christmas trees placed at the curb will be picked up on or about residents' recycling day during the entire month of January. Chips and recycles the trees as compost, so the stand, plastic bag cover, and all lights and tinsel must be removed before placing at the curb. For trees already at the curb in bags, the bags must be removed from trees for pick up, otherwise Department of Community Services (DCS) will not collect them.”

Wreaths will be collected separately with refuse, officials added.
