Hudson Shakespeare Company presents Richard II @ MPL
Hudson Shakespeare Company presents Richard II on June 13 at 7pm in Montclair Public Library's auditorium. Registration recommended.

In politics its important to project an image of confidence, but its quite dangerous when you start believing your own press. Richard II, a king since childhood, has continually been told he is God’s representative on earth and he takes on that role with relish as he wraps himself in iconic imagery while disregarding his citizens. Enter the pragmatic and straight shooter Henry Bolingbroke, Richard’s cousin, who seeks an inheritance that was stolen from him by Richard. What begins as a minor skirmish between two very different men spirals into a contest of competing philosophies about whose vision is best to rule England.
This event is free and open to the public, and the library is handicapped accessible. For more information and to register, please visit www.montclairlibrary.org/calendar or call 973-744-0500 ext. 2235.
About Hudson Shakespeare Company
Founded in 1992 and incorporated as a non-profit company in 1998, Hudson Shakespeare Company continues striving toward bringing the classics and contemporary theater to a myriad of locations and venues in New Jersey and the greater Tri-State area. Through our programs, we seek to create innovative and comfortable atmospheres for all of our personnel, from on stage to back stage and provide broad cultural and artistic exposure and an overall inviting experience for our audiences. At the same time, we have prided ourselves on a long tradition of giving first time directors, actors and technicians their “first crack” in the theater. The company hopes to continue expanding its current touring base and emerging school programs.
