Wayne Robbins from Inside Montclair went live for beauty and charity at a very special event called "Face of Bangz" that was held on Monday night, Nov. 21. Produced by Bangz Salon & Wellness Spa and the Bender Hammerling Group, five area women competed to become the Face of Bangz.
Ella Crowe from Montclair was crowned the winner, the Face of Bangz at Bangz Salon and Wellness Spa depicting beauty inside and out. The event raised over $1,000 which will be donated by the Bangz Better World Foundation to Ella’s charity affiliation which is the Hudson Pernatal Consortium, Doula Program. Local Montclair and New Jersey businesses that supported the event and fundraising include: Anderson Flowers, The Sandwich Theory, Bender Hammerling Group PR; Real Body Bootcamp, Finlandia Cheese, Back to Basic Wellness, NJ Plastic Surgery, Angelbeck Liquors, and The Original Moonshine.
The five finalists competed live in front of a panel of judges that included: Richard Cronk, co-owner of Bangz; Holly Korus of Baristanet; Ken Schlager of NJ Monthly and Park Place Magazines; and Vanessa Yurkevich of NY1News. With an eye towards becoming even more involved in the community, Bangz Salon & Wellness Spa in Montclair recently announced its first search to find "The Face of Bangz."
Entries in the tri-state competition were accepted through Saturday, Oct. 15.

The grand prize winner will receive cash and services valued at $1,500 along with a $500 donation to a charity of their choice. The winner's photo also will be used on promotional material. In addition, all entrants will receive 15 percent off any salon or spa treatment.
“The Face of Bangz Contest is a way for us to engage with the community and find out what is important to our clients and neighbors. Our goal is to find an individual with the same goals and ambition as Bangz in the hope that together we can make a difference,” said Israel Cronk, manager of Bangz Salon & Wellness Spa.
“We are hoping to find someone who knows and understands that having beauty on the inside will execute on the outside as well,” he added.
