Integrity House Teams Up with West Orange Police Department to Help to Keep Heroin Off Streets

Integrity House and West Orange Police Department collaborate to reduce the impact of heroin and encourage those impacted to seek help

WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Integrity House, a nationally recognized non-profit substance abuse rehabilitation center with locations in Newark, Secaucus and Jersey City is teaming up with the West Orange Police Department for Operation HOPE, a heroin and opioid prevention effort.

West Orange Police are seeking to drastically reduce the impact of heroin and opioid abuse in the community while encouraging those who have already fallen prey to the disease of addiction to seek help. According to Police Chief James P. Abbott, “Data on overdose deaths in the past years points to a growing number of victims in smaller, suburban municipalities.”

The Operation HOPE effort features a drug turn-in program that will allow users to voluntarily turn in heroin, opioids and drug paraphernalia without fear of arrest. Once officers properly dispose of the items, recovery support and assistance will be provided. The West Orange Police Department will offer individuals the opportunity to speak to representatives from Integrity House to seek immediate help.

We at Integrity House are more than happy to step up with the West Orange Police Department and help them with their continuing efforts in this fight.”
