July 4th Parade, Festival Will Return In Montclair: What To Know For 2026 Holiday

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Get ready to celebrate the fourth, Montclair.

Towns and cities across the nation will be holding Independence Day events this weekend. The list includes Montclair, which will be holding a July 4th parade and festival.

Here are some holiday reminders in Montclair for 2026, as per the township:

PARADE – Montclair's annual July 4th parade and festival will take place on Saturday, July 4. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. It will feature marching bands, community organizations, floats, antique vehicles, local businesses, military veterans and other participants. The parade begins on Bloomfield Avenue and Grove Street, and travels a 1.6-mile route along Midland Avenue, Watchung Avenue and Valley Road before concluding at Edgemont Park. FESTIVAL – Following the parade, the celebration continues with an annual festival at Edgemont Park. This year’s festival starts at noon, and will feature food vendors, live music, games, family activities and more.

TRAFFIC – Residents and visitors should expect traffic impacts before and during the event. There will be road closures and barricades on the parade route itself and the immediate blocks leading to the parade route, particularly in the area of Orange Road and South Fullerton Avenue, which will be used for staging. These closures will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m. Drivers should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and obey directions from police officers and traffic personnel.

TOWN HALL – The Montclair Township Municipal Building offices will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
