"These Opportunity Grants are one of my favorite parts of the League year. It is always so amazing to hear what these young men and women have overcome, what they’ve accomplished, and the huge contributions they’re making to our community, at such a young age," noted Stephanie Hutton, Junior League of Montclair-Newark President (2018-2020), "These students are incredibly impressive and truly embody Margaret’s commitment to the community.”

These grants honor Margaret Campbell Harris, a dedicated and beloved volunteer of three Junior Leagues: London, New York and ultimately, the Junior League of Montclair-Newark. As a fervent proponent of serving children in the community, Margaret spearheaded several JLMN projects connecting children to the arts through museum visits, art classes and puppet shows. Her fundraising abilities were unmatched and allowed the JLMN to reach these children. Margaret’s extraordinary sense of humor made a marked impact on all. The Junior League of Montclair-Newark is thrilled to honor Margaret’s memory by assisting a deserving young person to achieve their goals and dreams.
