Karen Turner Resigns From Positions to Avoid Conflict of Interest
Turner running for mayor as slates start to form

In order to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest, Karen Turner—who is running for office in May's nonpartisan election—has formally resigned from her leadership role with Concerned Citizens of Montclair and also from her position on Montclair's Operating Budget Advisory Committee.
"In order to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest with my volunteer work and running for a position with township government, I am formally resigning my leadership role with CCM and position on Montclair's Operating Budget Advisory Committee," she said, noting that CCM may be organizing a candidates' debate. "I will retain my membership with CCM as I support all the work they continue to do and like to be made aware of important township information not otherwise available."

Turner said she has enjoyed her work with both CCM and OBAC.
"I value all the knowledge I have gained over the past two years about the township's operations as well as meeting many citizens in the Montclair community," she said. "It's nice to see how this community comes together for a common concern."
