Kitten Thrown Out Car Window In Montclair, Animal Shelter Says

MONTCLAIR, NJ -- Montclair animal control officers are asking for the public's help finding the person who threw a cat out the window of a moving car on Friday.

According to a statement from the Montclair Township Animal Shelter:

"Montclair Animal Control is looking for public assistance to help find the person responsible for an act of animal cruelty by throwing a kitten out of the passenger window of a moving vehicle traveling on Glenridge Avenue/Cloverhill Place towards Grove Street between noon and 12:15 p.m. today. Witnesses at the scene described the vehicle as a brown/bronze SUV/ Nissan Rogue with New Jersey license plates."

The shelter continued:

"Residents with external cameras along Glenridge Ave and in the vicinity are asked to check their camera feeds for sightings of this vehicle and report it immediately to Detective Shawn DePoe at 973-509-4732 or Animal Control Supervisor Michele Shiber at 973-487-0524. This is an active investigation and no further details will be given at this time. All responses will be kept confidential."
