Leaking Fuel Caused Montclair Car Fire: Officials
A car fire on Rockledge Road in December was caused by leaking fuel, according to Montclair fire officials.
Montclair, NJ – A car fire on Rockledge Road in December was caused by leaking fuel, according to Montclair fire officials.
Montclair Deputy Chief Robert Duncan told Patch that firefighters received a call about a vehicle fire around 3:35 p.m. on Dec. 29.
The car was parked in the driveway at the rear of the property when it caught fire, Duncan stated.

The deputy chief said that a fire official determined that the conflagration was caused by the ignition of leaking fuel inside the engine compartment.
The vehicle and its contents were totaled in the fire and there was some minor paint blistering to the home, Duncan stated.
