Light Up Montclair: Diwali Celebration Returns For 2022

AAPI Montclair and Montclair Art Museum (MAM) will host the second annual Light Up Montclair, a Diwali celebration open to the public at Montclair Art Museum located at 3 South Mountain Avenue in Montclair on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 6 p.m. (rain date: Nov. 6).

Diwali, the festival of lights, commemorates a triumph of light over darkness and is a time for all to gather and celebrate new beginnings.

AAPI Montclair’s annual Diwali festival honors the diverse, rich traditions of the South Asian communities. The festival includes live performances, family-friendly arts and crafts activities, readings from local South Asian authors, food and beverages from local neighborhood restaurants and food trucks and more. Your ticket includes an entrance to the museum. The festivities will conclude with a special instructional dance by BollyX that you won’t want to miss.

Tickets are on sale now. General admission is $7 for non-members (fee waivers available) and $25 for families (limit to 5 attendees per family). Children under the age of 5 are admitted free. This event is free to MAM members. To RSVP, donate or learn more, visit aapimontclair.org.
