Loopwell Opens Event Facility In Montclair, Focuses On 'Wellbeing'

Need a place to get some work done – while also staying "human?" A new event space in Montclair may be up your alley.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Need a place to get some work done – while also staying “human?” A new event space in Montclair may be up your alley.

Loopwell, a 15,000-square-foot facility with indoor and outdoor space, recently opened at 80 Maple Avenue. The self-described “well-being hub” has seven different areas which can function as a home for events, corporate wellness experiences, team-building retreats or another work project.

The company also hosts a membership-driven “well-being club, and has corporate and individual memberships available.

According to CEO and co-founder Debbie Looney, the facility on Maple Avenue isn’t just an event space, though – it’s a place where the focus is on “fostering balance, meaningful connections, and purpose-driven experiences.”

The space itself is an attempt to manifest this approach to doing business: the restored 100-year-old building aligns with LEED standards and makes “extensive use” of recycled materials. Looney and Loopwell also made an attempt to choose a “soothing color palette” and infuse the space with natural light.

“We wanted to create a beautiful and functional space that aligns with organizations that value an integrated, human-centered approach for their events,” said Looney, the daughter of a Syrian refugee and a member of the NJAC Advertising Hall of Fame.

Looney said there is an “undeniable connection” between well-being and increased productivity in the workplace.

“The pandemic clearly showed us that well-being cannot be achieved from a virtual app or platform,” Looney said.

“When people take care of their well-being their capacity in life and at work improves – it's just common sense,” agreed co-founder Sean Looney.
