Lowe’s Workers Help Renovate Montclair Ambulance Unit In NJ

Lowe's employees donned red vests to help the Montclair Ambulance Unit with some building renovations.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Home improvement retailer Lowe’s recently helped to spruce up the Montclair Ambulance Unit’s digs at 95 Walnut Street as part of its Lowe's Hometowns program.

Last month, Lowe's employees donned red vests to help the Montclair Ambulance Unit renovate their Map Room, where EMTs are called for emergency situations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – including new flooring and paint, as well as locker and parking space construction.

The Montclair Ambulance Unit (MAU) has served as Montclair’s only Emergency Medical Services provider since 1953.

Here’s why Lowe’s chose the MAU, according to the company:

“The Montclair Ambulance Unit needs to make major renovations to its facility, including floor structure and flooring refurbishments, joist replacement and new flooring, upstairs bathroom improvements for increased use and convenience and painting throughout to preserve and maintain the building's interior.”

Lowe's revealed the 100 community-nominated impact projects that have been selected as part of this year's Lowe's Hometowns program earlier this year, with 2022 serving as the first of a five-year, $100 million commitment.

This year's projects include 31 community centers, 17 shelters, 10 parks or outdoor spaces, nine safe or affordable housing accommodations, nine schools, seven gardens, five animal services buildings, four playgrounds, three first responder facilities, three food pantries and two cultural preservation projects.

“With projects spanning 40 states and Washington D.C., Lowe's will help restore and revitalize spaces that serve as the hubs and heartbeats of communities, including neighborhood housing, parks, community centers and much more,” the company stated.
