Mail Stolen From Postal Truck In Montclair, Car Burglaries Reported
Montclair Police Department: Someone stole mail from a U.S. Postal Service worker's truck. Several vehicle burglaries were reported.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Several motor vehicle-related crimes took place in Montclair last week, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents were reported in the township:
Dec. 12 (Chestnut Street) – A contractor working on Chestnut Street reported that an unknown person entered his work truck and stole his backpack. The backpack contained $2,500 in cash, a key fob to his personal vehicle, and several work documents, police said.

Dec. 13 (Norman Road) – A resident reported that he arrived home and discovered that an unknown person had entered his garage. A 2007 Porsche 911 that was parked inside of the garage was entered. It is unknown if anything was stolen. The suspects weren’t able to steal the car, police said.
Dec. 14 (McDonough Street) – A victim reported that his vehicle was entered and a backpack was removed. The backpack contained several work documents. Surveillance video in the area shows the suspect wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and possibly a blue traffic vest (similar to an Amazon driver's vest). The suspect also appeared to possibly be wearing gloves and a black mask.

Dec. 15 (Alexander Avenue) – A victim reported that his unlocked work van was entered during the day. Clothing and a wallet were reported stolen. An unauthorized $500 purchase was made at a local GameStop.
Dec. 15 (High Street) – An employee with the U.S. Postal Service reported that while he was out on his route, an unknown person entered his postal truck and stole an unknown amount of mail.
