Man Accused Of Exposing Genitals Near Montclair School

A middle school student was walking through Glenfield Park on her way to class at the time, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police arrested an Essex County resident after a juvenile allegedly saw him with his genitals exposed near a local middle school, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the encounter took place on Maple Avenue on May 30. Authorities released the following details:

“A juvenile student from Glenfield Middle School reported that while walking through Glenfield Park on her way to school, she observed a male on the stairs leading from the walking path to the wooded brook area. The male had his pants and underwear down to his knees exposing his genitals. The student proceeded directly to the school and alerted school officials who immediately contacted Montclair police. Officers responded and located the male party, who was subsequently identified as the suspect.”

The suspect – a 24-year- old male from East Orange – was arrested and turned over to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office because the incident took place inside of a county park, Montclair police said.
