Man Arrested After Fighting With Cops At Montclair Restaurant: Police
Montclair police arrested a Cedar Grove resident after he became "combative" at a restaurant on Bloomfield Avenue, authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police arrested a Cedar Grove resident after he allegedly became “combative” and fought with officers at a restaurant on Bloomfield Avenue last week, authorities announced Monday.
The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the arrest, which took place on Nov. 16:
“Officers responded to Porta Restaurant on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed employees attempting to remove an unruly patron. Officers attempted to intervene and the suspect became combative and began fighting with officers. A 26-year-old male from Cedar Grove was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Throwing Bodily Fluids at Law Enforcement.”
Police didn’t release the identity of the arrestee in an initial statement. No additional information was immediately available.
