Man Calls Cops When Ice Cream Cones Go Missing, Mom Takes Fall

A mother learned the hard way that it's risky business to mess with a man's ice cream.

NUTLEY, NJ — A New Jersey mother learned the hard way that it’s risky business to mess with a man’s ice cream.

Nutley police said that officers responded to a report of a theft at a Centre Street home on July 10, arriving at the residence to find a 24-year-old man complaining of frozen dessert larceny.

According to authorities, the man called police when he noticed two ice cream cones were missing from the freezer of his refrigerator. He then questioned his brother – who denied taking them – before turning the interrogation to his mother.

The man’s mother admitted to officers that she took the two ice cream cones but “didn’t realize that it was a big deal,” police said.

She promised to pay for the ice cream cones, authorities added.
