Man Filmed Teens In Montclair, Followed Them: Police
No arrest has been made in a "suspicious incident" involving 2 teens and a man accused of filming them without permission in Montclair.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — No arrest has been made in a “suspicious incident” involving a pair of juveniles and a man who allegedly filmed them without permission last week, Montclair police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident started around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 outside the Montclair Public Library’s Bellevue Branch. At that time, a 13-year-old female and another juvenile spotted an adult man holding his cell phone as if he was recording them.
The juveniles told officers they felt uncomfortable, so they walked to the CVS pharmacy on Valley Road. While inside the store, the 13-year-old saw the same man. The juveniles then left the CVS and walked to the nearby Starbucks.

Again, the man followed them, continuing to hold his phone as if recording, they told police.
Eventually, a customer in the Starbucks – acting out of concern for the juveniles – told the man to put his cell phone down and he left the coffee shop, police said.

The juvenile’s guardian, who had been called earlier, soon arrived on the scene, authorities said.
Police said the man was described as a white male about 56 to 60-years-old. He was about 5 feet 8 inches and from 160 to 180 pounds, and had white hair with a white beard. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and hat, sunglasses and had a green shoulder bag and a red phone case.
No arrests have been made, a Montclair police spokesperson said Tuesday. Anyone with information can contact Det. Dan Heiser at 973-509-4724.
