Man Points Gun During Fight In Montclair: Police
Police arrested a Passaic County resident after he allegedly pointed a gun at another person during a fight in Montclair, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Police arrested a Passaic County resident after he allegedly pointed a gun at another person during a fight in Montclair last week, authorities announced Tuesday.
The Montclair Police Department released the following details about the incident, which took place on May 31:
“Officers responded to the area of Grove Street and Walnut Street on a report of a physical dispute. One of the suspects was reported to be armed with a rifle. Upon arrival of officers, the victim reported that there had been a fight and the suspect had pointed a gun at him. The suspect was located by officers on scene. Further investigation revealed that the suspect, a 25-year-old male from Wayne, had been in possession of a loaded AM-15 rifle.”
Police charged the man with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Possession of Prohibited Weapons and Devices. The man – who was not identified in an initial police statement – was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.
