Man Tries To Grab Woman's Purse In Montclair: Police
The victim resisted and the man let go of her purse, but he managed to steal a bag with prescription medication, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A man tried to grab a woman’s purse during a recent robbery on Walnut Street in Montclair, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to the area of Walnut Street and Walnut Crescent on Dec. 18 after receiving a report about a robbery.
The victim told officer that she was walking east on Walnut Street when an unknown man approached her from behind and grabbed her purse, attempting to take it from her.

The victim resisted and the man let go of the purse, but he managed to abscond with a shopping bag containing prescription medication, fleeing south on Pine Street, police said.
Police said the victim sustained lacerations to her hands during the struggle. She was evaluated by the Montclair Ambulance Unit but refused further treatment, authorities said.

The victim described her assailant as a man about 6 feet 1 inch with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans and a two-toned navy and light blue jacket with a hood over his face, she said.
