Mass Resignations On Montclair Senior Citizen Committee: Report
Ten of 12 members of Montclair's Senior Citizens Advisory Committee have resigned, a report says.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Ten of 12 members of the Montclair’s Senior Citizens Advisory Committee (SCAC) have resigned in protest, a report says.
According to the municipal website, SCAC members are charged with “assessing services and issues important to township seniors, making recommendations to the council and staff on programs and policies, and serving as a liaison to seniors throughout the town.”
The committee recently saw mass resignations from its members, including the group’s chair and vice chair. Those members are alleging that the town council’s recent decision to reorganize the committee undercuts their role as advocates for senior issues, Montclair Local reported.
