‘Meet A Muslim’ In Montclair: Forum Will Help Bridge Culture Gaps

Moina Shaiq is on a mission to build bridges of love, respect, understanding and acceptance… one heart at a time.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — She’s on a mission to build bridges of love, respect, understanding and acceptance… one heart at a time. That’s what Moina Shaiq will bring to Montclair’s First Congregational Church on Sunday, Oct. 1, for an event aptly named “Meet A Muslim.”

Shaiq, a California resident, grandmother and community activist who calls herself an “ordinary Muslim,” will appear at the Montclair church for a public forum, during which she will speak about her life in America and answer questions such as:

  • “Are women oppressed in Islam?”
  • “How does Islam view other religions?”
  • “What is Sharia Law?”
  • “What is the Islamic view of terrorism?”

The event takes place from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1 at First Congregational Church, 40 South Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. For more information, see the church website.
