Montclair High Teen To Sell Vegan Cookies For Cancer Research
Doris Zeger, a 15 year-old sophomore at MHS, will sell homemade vegan oatmeal raisin cookies on Dec. 29 to benefit Cycle for Survival.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Doris Zeger, a 15 year-old sophomore at Montclair High School, will sell homemade vegan oatmeal raisin cookies on Friday, Dec. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Juice Culture at 617 Valley Road. According to organizers, 100% of proceeds from the sale of the cookies will benefit Cycle for Survival, a program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that raises money for rare cancer research.
“I’m excited about raising money for Cycle for Survival,” says Doris, who has donated over $700 to the organization with her bake sales. “I’m also happy to share my love for veganism by selling these sweet and delicious cookies.”
Doris has been a rider in Cycle for Survival events for the past four years at Equinox Gym locations in Manhattan and Summit. She became aware of Cycle for Survival when she lost her uncle to a rare cancer in 2014. The oatmeal raisin cookies that she’ll bake and that she’ll be selling are based on Doris’ recipe, and are oil-free, low fat, non-dairy, and vegan, organizers said.
