MKA Student Pens Book, Will Donate Profit To Charity
It's been exactly a month since 13-year-old Emily Talkow's book hit Amazon.

Montclair, NJ – It’s been exactly a month since 13-year-old Emily Talkow’s book hit Amazon.
And already, the young author has managed to inspire readers with her drive and charitable mindset.
Talkow, a North Caldwell resident and eighth-grader at Montclair Kimberley Academy in Essex County, has stated that all proceeds from her debut book, “Soar: Uplifting quotes for those who need hope, a hug, or a high- five,” will be donated to charity.

The funds will be used to fuel a student-based learning initiative at MKA that is donating funds to schools in extremely low income areas, The Progress reported.
According to the book’s Amazon profile, Talkow was motivated by “the daily acts of violence and tragedy seen around the world” to write a book based on what gives her comfort during difficult, disheartening times… inspirational quotes.

When not writing, Talkow enjoys playing tennis, riding her unicycle, and spending time with her beloved family and friends, her author profile states.
