Montclair 1st Ward Beautification Day Needs Local Volunteers

Montclair's sixth annual First Ward beautification day will be held on Saturday, April 21.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair First Ward Councilor William Hurlock recently announced the return of the sixth annual First Ward beautification day, which will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.

According to a municipal news release:

“Teams of volunteers will once again gather to pitch in for a variety of responsibilities such as weeding, planting on public grounds, spreading mulch, painting and repairing park benches, and collecting debris at multiple locations -- Yantacaw Brook Park, Mountainside Park, Upper Montclair Business District, Upper Montclair Train Station, Carlisle Avenue woods and the Bonsal Preserve.”

"Each year we have a tremendous group of volunteers who take time out of their weekend to help make our ward look spectacular in preparation for warm weather activities," said Councilor Hurlock. "I look forward to another day of rewarding work, helping out with this incredible effort."
