Montclair Animal Shelter Needs Volunteers As Holidays Approach
The Montclair Animal Shelter is putting out a call for new volunteers ahead of the holidays.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Need to get on Santa's "good list?" The Montclair Animal Shelter is putting out a call for new volunteers ahead of the holidays, and they can use your help.
The shelter posted the following social media message on Monday:
“Hi friends, we're reaching out for volunteers from now until New Year's. We've had amazing team members over the years. Folks are retiring and moving out of the area. We're in the process of hiring new staff and in a government agency that is a process. People have to be vetted, physicals, etc. We'd like to reach out once again to our community for some support. We need help every day from 9 a.m. till about noon. We need help in kennels, cats, cleaning, dishes and laundry, mopping wiping down the front reception area. The ideal volunteer should be able to work somewhat independently after training. We ask that you wear clothes that are dispensable. Using rain boots especially in the kennel is helpful. Wear clothing (that if it gets stained by bleach) you can just disregard or save as your regular volunteer gear. A must is closed toe shoes and long pants.”
