“There is nothing like a child’s smile when they meet a new pet for the first time," said Eric Lerner, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York. "It is a deeply moving experience. As a station, we are committed to creating even more of these special moments and that is why our news anchors, reporters and WNBC employees are so passionate about connecting homeless pets with loving homes. We look forward to clearing the shelters on August 19.”
“This is a wonderful opportunity for animals to find forever homes,” said acting Shelter Director Liz Morgan. “Summer is a difficult time of year because so many animals are abandoned when owners go on vacation, and we have fewer people coming in to adopt also because of summer vacations. We have so many wonderful animals at MTAS that are looking for their forever homes, with the support of FOMTAS and Clear the Shelters, we really do hope to clear our shelter on August 19.”
