Montclair Apartments Taking Applications For Affordable Housing

Montclair residents and township/board of education employees will get priority, officials said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — An opportunity to apply for affordable housing in Montclair has arisen, town officials announced Tuesday.

According to Montclair officials:

“Two South Willow, the mixed-use building currently under construction at the corner of South Willow Street and Bloomfield Avenue, is accepting applications for the 20 affordable units in the building. Montclair residents and Montclair Township and Board of Education employees get priority for these units.”

Pets are allowed with fees/restrictions, and tenants can rent a parking space for $130 or $180 per month. The building is smoke-free.

Any income eligible households can apply. The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 21, 2021. To submit an application or join the waiting list in Montclair, click here.

According to the flyer, there will be a random drawing to choose among applicants. The new apartments will be available in the spring of 2021.

The available apartments and rents, not including utilities, are:

1 Bedroom

  • 1 very low at $423
  • 5 low at $770
  • 6 moderate at $1,017

2 Bedroom

  • 1 very low at $511
  • 3 low at $927
  • 4 moderate at $1,223
