Montclair Bar Opens Near Wellmont, Taps Nutley Native As Chef

Pharmacie Liquor Bar in Montclair is open for business, with Executive Chef Nick Greiss, a Nutley native, in the driver's seat.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Pharmacie Liquor Bar in Montclair is open for business, with Executive Chef Nick Greiss, a Nutley native, in the driver’s seat.

The bar and restaurant, located at the corner of Seymour Street and Bloomfield Avenue in downtown Montclair is named after the historic Wellmont Pharmacy that once flanked the entrance to the iconic theater.

The establishment at 398 Bloomfield Avenue has two bar areas and 100-seats, and will be anchored by a team of two resident bartenders, according to a company news release. Learn more about the bar and restaurant here.

Greiss, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, said that he’s excited to take on the task of helming Pharmacie Liquor Bar, the first time that he’s held the executive chef job.

“Pharmacie Liquor Bar will provide a fresh take on a traditional bar experience creating a downtown draw for concert-goers and locals alike,” Greiss said.
