Montclair Board of Education Appoints New Superintendent
Board selects experienced administrator for top schools position in district.

The Montclair Board of Education named Ronald E. Bolandi, a former administrator at several New Jersey school districts, as its new interim superintendent of schools.
The appointment comes about a month after departing superintendent Penny MacCormack announced her sudden resignation to take a new education job in New York City. [See related Patch story]
Bolandi will begin his new position on Wednesday, April 1.

“We are privileged that Ron Bolandi will be stepping in as Interim Superintendent. He has extensive experience as a school leader and one of his many strengths is bringing people together around highly effective improvements and solutions,” stated Board President David Deutsch in a release.
“I’m delighted to join the Montclair Public Schools, and I look forward to working with our school leaders, the staff, and the entire community to continue making progress for the benefit of all students,” said Bolandi in a statement.

According to a release, Bolandi’s experience includes:
· Interim Superintendent of Bedminster Public Schools
· Interim Superintendent of the Kearny Public Schools, 2011 to 2013
· Interim Superintendent of Edison Township Public Schools
· Superintendent of the East Windsor Regional School District, 2004 to 2010
· Superintendent/Business Administrator in Tewksbury
· Superintendent in Piscataway, Chester, and Winslow townships
· Assistant Superintendent in Middletown and Middlesex Borough
His professional affiliations include New Jersey Association of School Administrators, American Association of School Administrators, Registered School Business Administrator International, New Jersey Association of School Business Administrators, American Association of School Business Administrators, and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, according to a release.
