Montclair Budget Votes Scheduled Monday: Town, School Spending Plans

Montclair residents who want to know how their tax dollars are being spent should tune in to a pair of meetings on Monday.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair residents who want to know how their local tax dollars are being spent may want to watch a pair of township and school budget meetings on Monday evening.

The mayor and town council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. on May 13 at the council chambers of the municipal building, 205 Claremont Avenue. The meeting will also be livestreamed via the town’s YouTube page.

According to a municipal notice, the purpose of the meeting is to introduce and approve the township’s latest budget. The agenda shows that there is an ordinance on the table to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and establish a cap bank.

The school board is scheduled to vote on the adoption of the budget at their meeting on Monday, May 13, which will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the George Inness Annex Atrium, 141 Park Street. Board meetings are also livestreamed online.
