Montclair Burglaries Reported: Restaurant, Homes, Trailer
Burglaries were reported at a Chinese restaurant, several homes and a construction trailer, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair experienced several burglaries and attempted burglaries over the past week, including incidents at a Chinese restaurant, multiple local homes and a construction trailer, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents recently took place in the township:
- 1-23-2019 (Golden Chinese Gourmet, Grove Street) - Burglary to a commercial establishment. Access was gained by kicking in the glass front door. The cash register was taken in this incident.
- 1-24-2019 (Harrison Avenue) - Attempted burglary to a garage. A door was damaged, but entry was not gained to the structure.
- 1-25-2019 (Lorraine Avenue) - Burglary to a residence, a rear window was smashed to gain entry. A bedroom was rummaged through, but it is unknown if anything was taken.
- 1-25-2019 (Chester Road) - Burglary to an occupied residence. The homeowners heard a noise from the rear of the home and noticed two purses missing from a kitchen chair. Access was gained through an unlocked rear door.
- 1-26-2019 (Wildwood Avenue) - Burglary to an occupied residence. The homeowner heard a noise from the rear of the home. The homeowner then noticed a pocketbook missing from the dining room. Access was gained through an unlocked rear door.
- 1-26-2019 (Bloomfield Avenue) - Attempted burglary to an apartment. The front entrance door was tampered with, but entry was not gained.
- 1-26-2019 (S. Fullerton Avenue) - Attempted burglary to two apartments. The front doors were damaged, but entry was not gained to either home.
- 1-27-2019 (Union Street) - Burglary to an apartment. Jewelry was taken in this incident. There was no sign of forced entry.
- 1-29-2019 (Glenridge Avenue) - Burglary to a construction trailer. Power tools were taken in this incident.
