Montclair Business’ Door Damaged During Break-In Attempt: Police

Someone apparently tried to break into a Montclair business with a crowbar, authorities said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Someone apparently tried to break into a Montclair business with a crowbar last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to Montclair Lighting Company on Midland Avenue on Sept. 4 in response to an activated alarm.

The officers found damage to the wooden border of the front door, which was caused by a midsized tool – possibly a crowbar. The suspect or suspects weren’t able to enter the building, authorities said.
