Montclair Town Pool Will Reopen After Temporary Closure: UPDATED

Mountainside Pool was temporarily closed "due to mechanical issues," Montclair officials said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — After opening Montclair’s pools earlier this month with coronavirus restrictions, one of them was temporarily closed on Thursday, officials said.

Mountainside Pool was closed until further notice “due to mechanical issues,” township officials originally announced.

“Notice will go out when repairs have been completed,” officials stated.

Town officials gave an update about the situation on Thursday afternoon.

"Mountainside pool mechanical issues have been resolved," officials said. "The pool will reopen at 4 p.m."

Mountainside and Nishuane pools opened July 13. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the pools have been limited to 50 percent capacity with social distancing.

All persons must be pool members. No daily passes or out of town guests will be permitted this season.
